WWWWonder
The living dictionary.
Ask it any word. It writes the entry — the meaning, where the word came from,
and why anyone bothered inventing it.
Most dictionaries tell you what a word means. The interesting part is
everything else: that quarantine is forty days in Venetian, that clue
was a ball of thread before it was a hint, that salary is salt.
WWonder writes an entry for whatever you ask, keeps the ones you want, and sends you
a short issue each morning — a word, an invented word for something real that has no name,
and a game about which definition is the true one.
Where it is
In private beta on iOS. If you would like a TestFlight invitation, write to
info@wwonderapp.com.
How it treats you
No ads, no data sold, and the words you look up are never sent to analytics —
which words a person searches for is the most intimate thing this app knows.
The privacy policy says so in plain language, and is
short enough to actually read.
